You may be asking yourself,
"Who are these Midnight Hombres and from where do they come?"
Legend has it the masked one was found as an infant in a rundown stable on the outskirts of a small desert village. Unknow to his father and losing his mother at birth, there he lay amongst the burros, chickens and geckos.
His faint whimpers were heard by a passing Mariachi. This Mariachi, a gentle soul, picked up the infant and sang him the sweetest of Mexican lullabies.....
the boy smiled......and so it began!!
The "masked hombre" is singer/songwriter Allen Helsdon. After 20 years of fronting a number of cover and original
bands, a former band mate came to him inspired after seeing "Mariachi el Bronx" perform. Together they began working on original songs in the mariachi rock genre. Helsdon says " my inspiration for the lyrical content and flowing melodies of our songs come from a number of trips to Mexico experiencing the joy of mariachi first hand. I'm a storyteller...mariachi is storytelling...it just fits! Of course... I also have a love of Clint Eastwood westerns and tequila!! ". A 5 song demo was Engineered and Produced by Helsdon then showcased and very well received in April 2018 at The Casbah in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The band took a hiatus in the later part of 2018, member changes were made and the show was upgraded to included revamped classic rock songs given a mariachi tex/mex flare!
Since 2019, Midnight Hombres have been playing " Mariachi Rock Shows" regularly
and are ready to add some "fun, spice & variety" to any festival or event!
